NewsFlash - Immunizations

NEW IMMUNIZATION REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL SCHOOL STUDENT'S WHO ATTEND SCHOOL IN PENNSYLVANIA.

ALL students will need 2 doses of the Varicella (Chickenpox) vaccine at properly spaced intervals or a reported history of the disease.

In addition, students in 7th GRADE students will ALSO need (1) dose of the MENINGOCOCCAL VACCINE and (1) dose of Tdap (Tetanus-Diptheria-Pertussis) if more than 5 years has passed since their last tetanus vaccine.

If you have been notified that you child may be lacking one or more of these vaccines, please make arrangements to have your child obtain the appropriate vaccine as soon as possible. You will need to submit this information to the school nurse IMMEDIATELY. This WILL affect your child's ability to attend school and they will be EXCLUDED FROM SCHOOL if the vaccines are not recieved.

If you are having a problem obtaining these vaccines, please contact the High School Nurse at  570-735-3931 or leave a message at 580-735-8582. select Option 1 fior the High School and 395 to leave a voice mail message.

The Pennsylvania Department of Health is available to provide these vaccines (without cost) to any student without medical insurance, lack of medical coverage for the cost of the vaccine, or a student  having difficulty obtaining them from a private physician. If needed, please call the PA Department of Health at 570-826-2062 to schedule an appointment to recieve the needed vaccine(s)..
