To Be Successful in Math
1. Attendance! Attendance! Attendance!
Attend every class!
2. Stop by during 7th period to ask questions about class work or assigned
problems.
3. Do your homework every night, and Show All Work!
Write down the original problem; then begin solving it.
Do not hand in just the answers.
If you use a calculator, show how you set up the problem.
4. Do your own work. Be HONEST.
Please don't copy answers from the back of the book (or from a
friend) and hand them in as your own that is plagiarism.
But do use the back of the book to check your work.
5. You must be a "risk-taker."
You must try each problem that is assigned.
Do NOT leave problems blank on homework.
6. Remain Positive!
Don't let this class or any class (or life) get you down.
Keep things in perspective.
Be enthusiastic.
"Nothing was ever achieved without enthusiasm." - Emerson
7. Theres a comic strip that says:
Today is the first day of the rest of your life....
Thats a relief! How much can they expect of you on your
first day!
Don't believe this comic strip I have high expectations for you,
even on the first day!
I believe that students will rise to the level of expectation that
the teacher has for them!
