Hello,
My name is Mr. Fedorko and this is my fifth year teaching at GNA. I am
originally from Edwardsville, Pa and hold teaching licenses in elementary
education, industrial technology, and alternative education. My intentions
were very clear upon starting a new year here at GNA. I am going to take this
industrial technology department and turn it around. I want my students to be
proud of our department, i want the school to be proud of our
accomplishments, and I want to create a near perfect learning enviroment
where we can not only be creative, but safe as well.
My mission for this year is as follows.
1. Everyone begins the year with a 2 week safety course where we conduct
hands on activities with discussion on how to create a safe learning
enviroment.
2. The third week of school is devoted to machine and hand tool
demonstrations where your child and I will do hands on samples using all the
machines. We do this as a class and safety is stressed.
3. The fourth week of school is when we actually begin to work. The first
project is done individually but the entire class works step by step until we
are finished.
4. Providing the students are safe and have an understanding on how the shop
is run, I will then give them some more freedom on their second project to
work on their own.
5. Any misbehavior or unsafe acts will result in moving backward to step 1.
This could happen at anytime during the year. I cannot stress enough that
safety is the key to having a successful year. There will be no horseplay
while we are working. Before or after class begins, we all need to have some
fun once in awhile. (even I DO)
** I would like to end this by thanking the administration and school board
for giving me an chance to come here and work at their high school. I am very
confident that we will have a great year.
