CONGRATULATIONS - the Band Association is proud to congratulate Claire and Kasey who qualified for District Band for clarinet. Great job!! District Band will be held in February at Pittston Area High School. SMENCILS - have finally arrived!! See Mr. Bunnell to obtain a bucket of Smencils to sell. Each bucket contains 50 Smencils with an assortment of 10 flavors. Smencils sell for $1.00 each - with $.50 profit per Smencil going into the Student's Account (to be used for the Spring Band Trip.) NEW YORK CITY - Information on the Spring Marching Band Trip has been given to eligible students. Please be aware that the first deposit of $120.00 is due on or before Tuesday, January 5, 2010. You will receive a letter soon with the amount your student has in their "Trip Account." Money in the Trip Account can be applied toward the deposit. Any questions, call Nancy or Ed Tomko at 735-8346. UNIFORM CONTRACTS - please return the signed Uniform Contract with the $5.00 cleaning fee as soon as possible. INSTRUMENTS - Do you have instruments stowed in the attic, not being used or appreciated? Consider donating them to the GNA Band. Mr. Bunnell would like to add to the school's instrument inventory and is requesting donations of instruments. Having an inventory will allow additional students to become part of the band that might not have that chance otherwise. If you'd like to make a donation - instrument or monetary (to purchase used instruments) - please see Mr. Bunnell. MEETINGS are held on the first Tuesday of every month at 6:00 P.M. in the Band Room of the High School. The next meeting is Tuesday, January 5, 2010. Parents/guardians of all marching band, color guard, jazz band, concert band, Ed Center and Elementary band are welcome and encouraged to attend.
