* One prose excerpt from an essay, shorts tory, or novel

* Questions concern the attitude of the author toward the subject or theme and how

the stylistic devices show that attitude

**Open-ended Questions:**

* Consists of a directive an da listof possible classic novels and plays from which to

choose
