9th Grade Outside Novels
Students will need to read the novel assigned outside of the regular classroom period. Students will have a standardized test on each novel listed below. Students are to read the novel on the internet, through borrowing the book from the school library ( first come first serve) or a local library, or by purchasing the book, which is not a requirement. I encourage viewing online materials to help students undertsand the book content better. A packet may accompany the novel to help students stay on task with their reading, understand the vocabulary and improve their comprehension level. Due dates and work will be given to student around the beginning of the marking period. See student weekly calendar for specifics on due dates to packet materials. In addition to reading novels outside of the classroom, students will be reading a novel as a class. I ask students to purchase this novel ( the only one I would like them to buy): NIGHT by Elie Wiesel. A letter will be sent home to let you know when we will be reading this novel and other information of importance pertaining to the novel itself.
