Profesora Morris obtained her Bachelor's Degree from Saint Joseph's
University in Philadelphia. While at St. Joe's (Go Hawks!), she was a
Spanish major and linguistics minor. She also received a certificate in
Latin American Studies. Profe spent a semester studying at the Universidad
Nacional Autónoma de México in Mexico City. Upon graduating, she returned to
Mexico City to live and work for about a year.
She has taught Spanish to elementary students and adults, Spanish native
language literacy and ESL literacy in an adult literacy program in Boston
(her very first class contained students ranging from ages 17-72!), ESL
classes at an immigrant rights center in Boston, and middle school (all
subjects in Spanish and English) at the Rafael Hernández Two-Way Bilingual
School in Boston.
For all students who enter my classroom, I hope that they learn
*to appreciate languages and cultures other than their own
*to become competent communicators who are comfortable using Spanish in a
variety of contexts
