Health II School year 2009 - 2010

Welcome to a new and exciting school year. Our 1st Health class was on
September 11th, 2009.
We went over the rules, and expectations for this class, plus got aquainted
with each other. Gave out handouts for How to Do a Powerpoint and Tri-fold
Brochure. Research Paper = ( http://aresearchguide.com/index.html).
9/18/09 Periods 1,3,4 will have a Speaker ( Mr. John Kashenbach), from the
Dept of Health on STI'S, while Periods 5,6,7 will discuss Tattoo's/Piercings
9/25/09 Periods 5,6,7 will have a Speaker ( Mr. John Kashenbach), from
the Dept of Health on STI'S, while Periods 1,3,4 will discuss
Tattoo's/Piercings.
10/2/09 Started STD Newsletter Project. Had computers in class to start.
Students had a choice of working solo or with a partner. Certain STD's were
assigned. Those students absent on Friday from class have the responsibility
of getting the handout from Rm 117 crate within their class period folder.
Then have to see Ms. Sowa for the assigned STD. Getting their work when
absent has been stressed for the last three classes. Project can be worked
on during study halls to finish. This project is Due on 10/16/09. Handed
in Late = 5 pts. deducted each day. ( EX. Mon -5, Tues -5, Wed -5, etc...
The Handout provides the Questions / Procedures / Some Websites.

Note: Handed all students a small paper with their project,
worksheet grades, plus what they have to finish.
11/27/09 Happy Thanksgiving Vacation.
12/04/09 Finish Video "Supersize Me" Plus finish worksheet/discussion.
Any student who was absent, must get their worksheets from me and go to
either www.youtube.com or www.imdb.com/title/tt0390521/ and finish viewing
the video on your own time, answer questions and hand finished worksheet back
to me.
Note: All prior work must be done and handed in on this date. I
have been extremely flexible due to many students unable to have
library time.
