What do you do when you are having problems?
Is your recorder sounding funny? Does it seem as though the recorder is
broken? Chances are, it's not the recorder, it's the person playing the
recorder! Follow these helpful hints to be the best recorder player ever!!!
1. Are you blowing too hard?
Remember, the more fingers you use on the recorder, the less air you need.
2. Are your fingers covering the correct
all the way? Just because it LOOKS like you are covering the hole doesn't
mean you are. When in doubt, squeeze your fingers. If you pull your fingers
away quickly and look at them, you should see indents in your finger where the
hole was.
3. Are you holding the recorder the
correct way? Remember, TWO HANDS on the recorder. And ALWAYS use your left
hand on top!
4. Are you playing the correct notes?
