Vision Statement

VISION STATEMENT

Holy Child Catholic School will be a Christ-centered community where we
understand that all good things come from God.  We will nurture the whole
child through:

A.  CLIMATE – AN EXEMPLARY SCHOOL

1. Catholic Values (Grace) – Children will understand Christian
principles through the study of religion, the reception of the sacraments
and daily prayer.  Teachers will be exemplary models of Christian values. 
We will encourage an understanding for other faiths so that children from
other religious backgrounds will feel welcomed


2. Provide a place where students feel comfortable, safe and accepted

3. Promote open communication between parents, teachers, students which
encourages a sense of teamwork, respect and cooperation

4. Acknowledge and celebrate achievements of students and staff in
learning and leadership

5. Develop the concept of community through academic and
extracurricular activities with a focus on character development

 
B. STAFF- AN EXEMPLARY STAFF

1.  Focuses on increased student achievement with instructional
modalities that reflect current research and proven effective classroom
practices

2. Continue to develop a teaching methodology that applies the
Religion, Rigor and Relevance framework as well as the use of Gold Seal
Lesson plans

3. Model the importance of lifelong learning through their commitment
to ongoing professional development

4. Work to create conditions that promote student success

5. Encourage colleagues and students in an atmosphere of support and
respect

6. Model professionalism through personal integrity, commitment, and
ethical behavior

7. Collaborate to improve student learning (instructional strategies,
methods and assessments
 

C.  ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE – IN AN EXEMPLARY SCHOOL:
1.  The curriculum promotes intellectual curiosity, creative thinking,
and challenges student to reach their full potential

2. High levels of achievement are accomplished through measurable
academic standards, aligned with the major instructional goals

3. Focus is placed on character development which incorporates love of
God, love of neighbor, love of self, respect for others, social skills and
oral integrity in academic concepts

4. The concept of teamwork through academic and extracurricular
activities is developed

D.  STUDENTS – IN AN EXEMPLARY SCHOOL:

development of the students

4. Are involved with the School by volunteering their time and/or
service
