Welcome to Holy Name where we believe all students are capable of learning and experience a comprehensive academic curriculum provided in a safe, caring environment that promotes individual responsibility, respect, hard work and discipline. Setting high expectations and actively involving students in their learning enables them to become lifelong learners and productive citizens. Centered in Jesus Christ, the entire school community is committed to educating the total child and passing on the Catholic faith. Faith development is the primary purpose of our curriculum. Students leaving Holy Name possess knowledge of God, academic content, and thinking skills that enable them to function as inquirers and problem solvers in today's world.

HNS is Remarkable!

Mr. Jim Roman, Director Of Operations for the regional McDonald's Restaurants, presented Mrs. Cathy Lykens with a check for a Making Activities Count grant. This grant will be used for the purchase of materials for engineering lessons for junior high students. Student teams will be challenged to solve real world problems that they would face if they were part of NASA mission to outer space.

Advent Project

During this Advent Season, Holy Name School will be focusing on The Jesse Tree, or Remembering Tree. Each morning will begin with a reading from scripture, a reflection, and hanging a Jesse Tree Symbol on our Advent tree. Our Advent tree will also be decorated with purple and rose colored ornaments made by Holy Name School families. We will also be collecting items for Gabriel’s Project.

Weather Delays and Cancellations

Holy Name School follows the Central Cambria School District schedule for weather delays and cancellations. If Central Cambria delays or cancels, Holy name will do the same. Any child riding a bus from another school district will follow the announcement for that school district. For example, if Holy Name has school and Forest Hills is delayed or cancelled, students who ride that bus will also have a delay or cancellation. In such a case, those students will not be marked tardy or absent. When school is delayed, KID WATCH and EXTENDED DAY PRESCHOOL are also delayed. School closings and delays are announced through School Messenger and WJAC-TV Channel 6.
