All students must be in the school hall and seated every morning by 8:10am. If you are late, you must go to the office and sign in the Student Lateness Book. When parents are dropping off their children in the morning, please follow the car line. PLEASE do not get out of your car in the middle of the car line. If you need to walk your child into the building please park along the blue fence. If your child is absent, please call the school to notify your child's teacher. An absentee note is required upon the student's return to school.

Late Arrival

Everyone should be aware of the process of entering the parking lot and the school in the morning.  Please note that once the students' entrance door has been closed, students who are just arriving are considered late.  Mrs. Meyers will check to see that the parking lot line of cars have all dropped off their students and then she will close and lock the door.  Students will then have to come to the main entrance, ring the bell and then proceed to the main office to sign in and receive a late pass.  All students MUST adhere to this rule.

Important Telephone Numbers Concerning School Bus Issues

Parents, please note that if your child's school bus does not arrive on time please do not call the school.  We have no control over bus situations!  Here are the numbers that you should call:  The School District of Philadelphia Transportation Division:215-400-5288 and Durham Bus Company: 215-535-7300.  Please be sure to have your child at the bus stop 10 minutes before your scheduled pickup time.  If the bus does not arrive by 10 minutes after the scheduled pickup time, please call the district first and then the bus company.  Again, Holy Spirit School does not have any control over any bus situations.

Important Reminder Regarding Illness

Parents/guardians, please be aware that if your child is sick, please let him or her stay home. If a child has a fever, he or she MUST be kept at home! Students MAY NOT return to school until they have been fever free (without the use of Tylenol) for 24 hours. For everyone's safety, please adhere to this rule! Remember that a child who is sent back to school too soon only runs the risk of reinfection, as well as passing it on to others.

Winter School Uniforms

Please be aware that students in grades K-8 are now to be wearing the winter school uniform. This uniform is in effect from November 1 until April 15. Please see the dress code list under "forms/calendars/newsletter" to be sure that your child is in proper uniform. Remember that Holy Spirit has some gently used uniforms available. Please call the school office to arrange a time to come in and take a look!
Please adhere to all dress code rules! Remember that cosmetics or nail polish may NOT be worn at any time. No artificial nails or nail tips are permitted. No fad hairstyles or haircuts may be worn by boys or girls. Students may wear ONE thin neck chain, one watch and one ring per hand. Small post earrings may be worn by girls only. Only ONE earring is allowed per ear and the earring may only be worn on the ear lobe. Any personal appearance that constitutes a distraction is NOT permitted!
