First In Math
ICA is participating in "FIRST IN MATH" which is a dynamic resource for practicing math. Students love playing the 'Math 24' games in homeroom, the computer lab, and at home. All they need is a login and password. Studies have shown that students who play on a regular basis experience increased math proficiency. This weeks's Team of the Week is Grade 3 and the Player of the Week is Matthew from Grade 3. The Team of the Month is Grade 3 and the Player of the Month is Millie from Grade 8.

This is an easy way for you to recycle your paper each week and help ICA raise money to upgrade and maintain our technology department. Please drop off your old magazines, newspapers, catalogs, junk mail, weekly circulars, and TV guides. Funds are earned based on the weight of paper received each month. Thank you for your support!

CYO
We are pleased to announce that a new Immaculate Conception Catholic Youth Organization (IC CYO) public imformation website is now available at www.iccyo.com . This site was initiated by the IC CYO Board as a way to reach our Parishioners who would like to stay abreast of the Organization's activities. It includes the CYO Mission, activities, news, and much more. It also directs those who want to get involved in the IC CYO for volunteering their time as a coach among other leadership responsibilities. The IC CYO community website, in turn, will enhance the existing communication and cultivate activities for the youth in the Immaculate Conception Parish. Over the next few months, we will introduce new features and improved navigation on the community site. Your comments and suggestions for strengthening our communications are encouraged and welcome.

Advancement Director
In conjunction with the Office of Stewardship and Development, the Secretartiats for Catholic Education, Temporal Affairs and the Bishop's Commission on Catholic Schools, the Catholic School Development Program is launching a new governance model for Catholic Education in the Diocese of Allentown in 2012. Approved by Bishop Barres, the model of governance developed by the Catholic School Development Program features a board of limited jurisdiction, a decision making body with a bias for action. It also includes a strong emphasis on advancement. As being selected for this pilot program, Immaculate Conception Academy is seeking to hire an Advancement Director. The Advancement Director will report to the Principal, Christine Foley, and will be responsible for planning, coordinating and directing those activities that will enhance enrollment and attract the necessary philanthropic support to provide sufficient resources to ensure excellent educational programs and the long-term viability of the school. For more information, go to the "Advancement Director" page of this website.
