My name is Mrs. Teresa Zygala. I have taught at Immaculate for 20
years. During those years, I have had many different duties. Currently, I
am the librarian, sixth grade math teacher and the Wilson reading
instructor. I am also the moderator of our after school CARES program.
When I am not teaching math or reading, I am in the library ready to
help you with your latest research project or read you a great story. If
you are just looking for a good book, we have thousands! When looking for a
book, ask me for suggestions or log on to one of the laptop computers and
use the "ICS Library Card Catalog" link in the "Favorites" in Internet
Explorer. This link also works from any computer in the school.
I am also the moderator of the Immaculate Conception School Chapter of
the National Junior Honor Society. This organization recognizes students
who are outstanding in the areas of scholarship, leadership, citizenship,
and service. Our members look for ways to be of service to their school,
their parish and their community.
I also run the school Book Fairs. OUR NEXT BOOK FAIR is on November 7
(for school students) and November 9 (after all Masses (open to the
public.) Proceeds are used to improve our school library holdings.
We want every student to become comfortable using the library for research
and recreational reading.
Students will be able to complete research activities appropriate for their
grade level.
Students will be able to use the online catalog as a tool to find books for
both research and recreational reading.
Students will be aware of the Dewey Decimal System that is used to organize
our non-fiction books and the alphabetical order used for Fiction and easy-
to-read books.
