Third grade students worked very hard the week completing their Terra Nova testing. As a reward, students were treated to Rita's water ice at lunchtime and enjoyed watching the  movie,
"Harriet the Spy."

In Religion class we are practicing for our presentation of The Stations of the Cross which the entire school will see at 2:00 on Friday, March 30th in church.  All third grade parents are invited to attend.

We are learning The Ten Commandments, and discussing the things we need to do/not do to make sure not to sin against God's laws of love.  Our class reads the Good News Magazine for Children and  has been roll-playing the gospels for Lent in order to be ready for Sunday Mass.

Due to Terra Nova Testing, our Chapter 8 math test on Geometry was postponed until next week.  After our test on Tuesday,  we will continue with Chapter 9, Fractions and Measurement.
Students have come to the conclusion that FRACTIONS ARE FUN!!!!

The anthology story, "Rocks in His Head",is a humorous science biography written by Carol Otis Hurst which I am sure the class will enjoy reading and discussing this coming week.
This week's spelling unit contains words contains base words with suffixes.
In  grammar the third grade has been working with the different kinds of pronouns.

Natural resources and their uses is always an interesting topic to learn about in science.
Students also completed a project called, "Where's the Fat?".  We had to test different products in order to compare and contrast the amount of fat in each one, and come up with a conclusion about our test.

In social studies our class researched some famous people in history. Next, for Women's History Month third grade students will learn about quite a few important women from the past.  "Time for Kids Magazine" always helps keep us up to date on current events.
