Week of 5/21/12

This week in ELA we will be reading a biography of Alexander Graham Bell. We will learn how the beloved telephone came into existance and see what it used to look like back in the old days. We will be discussing some other inventors and do lots of creative thinking of our own. Our phonics focus will be on the letters "au", "aw" and "ea" when it makes the short e sound, as in head.

In math, we will be adding and subtracting double digit numbers without regrouping... that will come next week!

We are finishing up Unit 5 in Religion and looking over our church calendar. Our main focus will be on Advent and Christmas.

What a busy week!
Tuesday night is May Procession at 7:00.
Wednesday morning, our class picture will be taken and Wednesday night at 7:00 is the Fine Arts Festival.
Last but certainly not least, Friday is the much anticipated Color Day, with dismissal at noon.
