In the mean time, in your text book starting on page 138, please read the Wife of Bath's Prologue and then her tale. The problen with the prologue in your text book is that it is incomplete. Additionally, it is a bit hard to read and digest. Might I suggest that after you read it, you might google and check into Spark Notes and Cliff Notes for their summaries and analysis. So google Spark Notes and Cliff Notes and then check into Literature. They are both quite well done. While in Cliff Notes, xheck out: 1. Summary and Analysis: Wife of Bath Prologue and Tale 2. Character List: Wife of Bath. 3. Character Analysis: Wife of Bath. Now, while in Spark notes, check out: 1. Analysis of Major Characters: Wife of Bath. 2. Wife of B ath Prologue. 3. Wife of Bath Prologue ( continued). 4. Wife of Bath Tale: Analysis. Read, take notes on index cards, print out pages, whaqtever helps you. Personally, I would use index card notes since you can use them when you take a short test on the Wife of Bath. You will also need to use them and be able to quote lines in discussing the different interpretations of the Wife of Bath. It seems that there are a few different ideas as to who she really is. As a leader of a country, family, whatever, you want people to listen to you because they respect you and you respect them. Just because they can beat you up does not mean they are right. So, might is right is wrong. You should use might to make things right if all elsae fails. Arthur as a Merlin ( a pigeon hawk), ----- Learn to think before you act/talk, listen to others, pay attention to what is being said, listen to what is not being said, consider all possibilities for your actions, consider various outcomes before you act. Arthur as an Owl ----- Do not kill for pleasure. Arthur as a Goose. ----- do not fight each other, do not fight over boundaries, flying geese see no borders, when looking down they only see pople, they do not see the differences of peole, to geese, all people look the same. So treat everybody with the same dignity as you would want. According to Lyo Lyok,"What creature could be so low as to go about in bands to murder others of its own blood?" Arthur as a Badger ----- Man is undeveloped potential. Man is suppossed to be the dominant animal, yet he/she sometimes does not think. Many times man is foolish, belligerent.
