A very special event is taking place in our parish on Monday, January 11, 2010. Cardinal Justin Rigali will be celebrating a Holy Hour for Vocations with us on that night. The Holy Hour will start at 7:00PM in Church. Msgr. Ricci would like to see as many of our parishioners, young and “older” join with the Cardinal in this Holy Hour. And since it is called a "Holy Hour" I would assume it shouldn't be much longer than that.
We feel this is such a special event that we are making it a requirement for our 6th grade Confirmation class. The students will be required to sign in with us prior to the Holy Hour. Of course all of our PREP students and families are also encouraged to come to the Holy Hour.
This is a wonderful way for our children to visit with the Cardinal and to experience a form of prayer that they normally do not attend. There will be Exposition of the Most Blessed Sacrament followed by a prayer service and Benediction. All parishes throughout the Archdiocese will be celebrating this special evening at the same time. Mary, Mother of the Redeemer has been blessed to have the Cardinal coming here to celebrate with us.
