READ EVERY NIGHT!
Homework this week:
Please encourage your child to keep up the good work by reviewing their
letter sounds, sight words, and "tapping out" words which they can not
identify. I have been sending home sentence worksheets and booklets for the
children to read. Please put them in a folder or a basket and have the
children continue to read them all year long. The more they read, the better
reader they will become. You will witness how confident and proud they will
become. I am proud of how well they are reading, and I am sure you are, too!
The Early Childhood Christmas Concert will be held on Thursday in the Gym.
Please have your child come to school dressed in Christmas attire/red or
green. We look forward to seeing you at the concert.
Kindergarten B will be going shopping at Santa's Secret Shop on Monday,
December 14th. Please send your child's money in an envelope clearly marked
with his/her name and KB on the front if you would like your child to make
any purchases. Thank you!!
Kindergarten Progress Reports for the first trimester will be distributed on
Friday. If you would like to schedule a conference after reviewing the
report, please send me a note. Thank you.
Monday/Tuesday:
Please come to "Barnes and Noble Night" sponsored by MDP. Teachers will be
reading their favorite selections. It is a great opportunity for the
children select some books to enhance their reading abilities.
Please read the "take home" books to your parents and siblings that are in
your folders.
Religion- Please read your booklet "The Journey to Bethlehem" with your
parents. We have been discussing the true meaning of Christmas in class.
Since it is Jesus' birthday, I have suggested that the children ask their
parents if they can make a birthday cake or cupcakes at home for a Christmas
day treat, light birthday candles, and sing "Happy Birthday" to Jesus in
order to remember and celebrate the real reason for Christmas - the birth of
Jesus, God's greatest gift to us.
Please review your sight words and rhyming word lists above. Can you add some
to the list?
Wednesday/Thursday:
Worksheets
Read your new "take home" booklet "My Cap."
Show-n-Tell on Friday will be "Free Choice" since there will not be a new
letter person for this week.
Have a nice weekend!
