Students attending the 7th grade gifted exploratory classes recently
completed work on producing blog entries about some of the green technologies
of our new school. You can view some of these by going to the middle school
website and clicking on the school online newspaper icon. They are presently
working on their individual reserach projects. Topics range from producing on
video on how a computer works to research on Mt. Vesuvius and the devastation
of Pompeii. Projects should be completed by November 20.
Most of the 8th grade students are preparing to take part in the O.S. Earth
Global Simulation on December 2 at Intermediate Unit 20. This activity takes
most of the school day and is designed to give students practice in planning,
goal setting and team work. They also get a more realistic idea of what it
takes to try to solve problems at the international level.
