context, interactive timelines, and maps.

Similar in concept to You-Tube, this media-sharing site 
distinguishes itself by focusing on educational videos in a 
variety of areas, which are approved 
by a moderator before posting to ensure that all material is 
appropriate for classroom use.  The site provides a large 
quantity of student and class-created content.
SCHOOLTUBE

This is a web radio site with a visually interactive interface 
that enables teachers and students to explore different styles of 
music.  Clicking on a musical genre opens a screen filled with 
representative artists; clicking on an artist pulls in additional 
artists whose music is similar in style. Listening to sings is 
free, but links to retailers are also provided for purchasing 
downloads and CD's.
