About The Teacher

I love teaching and children. I feel it's a special "calling" to be a
teacher here at Northwestern Elementary School. I have taught here
since 1997.

I graduated from Clarion University in Clarion, PA with a Elementary
Education Degree and earned my Master's Degree as a Reading Specialist
from Edinboro University in 2001. I have taken at several other classes
through Gannon and Wilkes University to keep my certification updated.

I have lived with my husband (Fred) and three sons (Kurt, Keith, and Scott)
in several states. We moved to Albion in 1995. My sons have all graduated
from college and are living on their own. In 2008 my son, Keith, got
married and I have a great daughter-in-law (Alison) as well. Finally another
girl in my family!

I love sitting at the beach at Conneaut Lake where we own two cottages that
we rent out during the summer months. I love to ride our family jet ski and
speed boat. Our goal is to move to "the lake" in 2011. We have not lived in
our own home for almost 20 years! My husband, Pastor Fred, and I will be
commuting to work and school from there.

I also love spending time with my family and friends and try to walk two
miles each day for exercise. You may see us walking throughout Albion. My
husband and I recently went on the Dr. Dean Ornish heart healthy program. I
have learned a lot about nutrition, exercise and stress management for a
healthier lifestyle.

Mission For The Class

I expect everyone to do their very best and to help others to achieve their
goals. We work together as a team. The teacher works with the
students and parents to ensure that every student will be successful. I
expect respect, manners and kindness in our room and in our school.
