I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the wonderful gifts

Book Report in a…. Due February 3, 2010
Directions:
1.Choose a book you have not read yet.
2.Submit your book choice to Ms. McKenna by January 5, 2010.
3.After reading the book, select a container to do your project with (box,
manila envelope, paper bag or ANYTHING that you feel would be appropriate
for your project. BE CREATIVE!!!!)
4.Decorate your container to show some of the major details, themes and
elements found in the book. You can use anything you’d like to decorate
it. There is no right or wrong way, just be creative! You want to do a
good job representing your book just by looking at the container.
Inside the container:
1.Summary/details of book. You will use the form Ms. McKenna has given you.
(Summary includes all the major events of the story and should not be
shorter then 8 sentences)
2.Five objects that represent the book in some way. (Be prepared to explain
the objects and why you chose them!)
Rubric:
1.Container (35 pts) - container is appropriately and creatively decorated
and does a good job of representing some of the book’s details, themes and
elements.
2.Book Report (30 pts)- Summary is at least 8 sentences and includes the
important details of the story.
3.Five objects inside container that represent the book in some way (25 pts)
4.Spelling/mechanics and neatness (10 pts)
Five points will be deducted for each day it is late!
