2008-2009 School Year
September Edition
Hello! Welcome to the Second Grade at Our Lady of Consolation Catholic School! My name is
Mrs. Wright and I will be your teacher this year! I am really looking forward to getting to
know everyone and getting the year started!
Second grade will be a great year! I have many fun things planned and there will be lots of
learning!! I am looking forward to coming back to the classroom in the fall and to begin
teaching each child!
Please take some time to look at the Second Grade Web Page --there is lots of information and
fun things to do too! I utilize this site for many things and I update it regularly so make
sure you check it out often!! I added many new features this year and am very excited about
having the children use the web page to enhance their learning!
Be sure to check out the SLATE button where you will find interactive activities for the
students to work on at their own pace. There is also the Young Einsteins Club where children
can work on learning new things through a series of weekly tasks and challenges! I have also
added vocabulary pages and a prayer page so that the children will always have access to the
information they need for class.
Also be on the lookout for our Special projects page and information about Back to School Night!
I am looking forward to seeing everyone on September 3rd! Remember to pack a snack and bring
your bookbag! You will be bringing books home to cover!All workbooks must be covered in clear
contact paper. thank you!!
Also, We have a noon dismissal. On September 4th you wil NOT have school but everyone will come
to school on Friday September 5th. Spring uniform option may be worn.
Some things each student will need to bring to school:
1. School Supplies (see the list on the web site)
2. School bags
3.Paint smock or old tshirt to wear over uniform for art
4.Box of tissues
5.Roll of paper towels
6.Box or package of baby wipes.
Also if anyone can donate milk crates or sturdy banker type boxes for storage I would greatly
appreciate it!!!
