This is our Integrated Language Arts page. In the Second Grade your child
will be recieving over 900 minutes of instruction in this area each week.
This includes Reading, Writing, Grammar, Phonics,and Spelling. We work in
Units in our Scott Foresman ILA series. This page is where you will find
information regarding each unit and the work we are doing each week. Each
unit has a project of some type that the students will be expected to
participate in and complete. Please use this page as a resource and
information page for all the ILA unit information.

WE ARE NOW IN UNIT 2 --ZOOM IN!
THE STORIES IN THIS UNIT HELP STUDENTS USE THE WORLD AROUND THEM TO CLASSIFY,
SEE LIKENESSES AND DIFFERENCES, AND ORGANIZE EXPERIENCES MENTALLY.
THERE WILL BE A PROJECT TO ACCOMAPANY THIS UNIT ON ANIMAL HABITATS!
***Students will research an animal and its habitat, and create a diorama.
They will prepare a report and present it to the class.***
