Mystery Reader Invite...
I would like to invite any parents, older siblings, grandparents, or any other special someone to be a Mystery Reader in Grade 2. Students beam with pride when "sharing" their special person with their classmates. Mystery Readers will read to our class on Fridays at 12:00. Readers are asked to bring their own book, or read a teacher-selected book from our classroom library.
If you can find a date that works for you, please sign up to be a Mystery Reader for the 2008-2009 school year.
Listed below are available dates. Please choose two that will work for you, and I'll try to accommodate as many people as possible. You can either email your preferred dates or send them in with your child in a "top secret" envelope (remember, this is a surprise to your child and the class). I will get back to you with your Mystery Reader date once I have everything firmed up.

Mystery Reader Clues:
When it is your turn to be our Mystery Reader please send in your clues (in a top secret envelope), or email them to me, a couple days prior to your "grand entrance" Some ideas (but don't feel limited to) for clues:
1. This clue is one that your child will not know about you. Example: A fact about your childhood.
2. This clue is one your child may or may not know about you, or it is a clue that will not yet set you apart from other Mystery Readers. Example: a detail about your line of work, or a relative's name or favorite food.
3. This is a clue that will reveal your identity. Example: your pet name for your child, or a reference to a special experience you and your child have shared. |
