12/24 - 8th Grade: Check homework pg!!

12/20 - Free verse poetry for 8th grade and movie reviews for both classes
will be due in January/Feb. Do not worry about them over the Christmas holiday.

11/11 - 7th Grade Parents: I really need your help in making sure your child's
homework is being done for me. The marks for social studies homework are going
to be low enough for students to fail the first trimester. I can't begin to
tell you the number of students who do the wrong question, forget their
copybook, or copy down the wrong question even though they have the right
information at the top of the page.

11/8 - 8th grade parents: The test schedule for Mockingbird from the calendar
was too optimistic, I think! Check the daily homework schedule to see when the
rescheduled dates will take place. Sorry!

10/26 - 7th Grade Parents: Please be on the lookout for a letter home tomorrow
from me. It concerns daily homework.

10/20 - 8th Graders: PLEASE bring in items for Halloween Bingo this week!!!
Only 4 students brought anything in so far. I know we can do better!!!!!!!!

10/15 - BROADWAY???? Here are the options. Shrek $47 for rear mezz. For Lion
King $81 for front mezz and $61 for rear mezz. The number of people who want
to come won't affect ticket prices, but the cost of the bus will go down if we
have more people. The max would probably be about 47 or 57. What I need by
Monday if possible would be the total amount of tickets that you will need. I
DON'T NEED money but will sooner than later, especially for Lion King. Tell me
which you prefer, and I guess we'll have to go with majority rules! Thanks,
Mike Walsh

10/11 - Calendars have been put online for both classes. Calendar #2 is for
8th grade. The calendars will be updated online for the remainder of the
school year. I will still send home a hard copy. PLEASE use them!

10/7 - 8th Grade Parents: I will be available to meet with you for progress
reports on Wednesday or Thursday, October 21 or 22. If you need a morning
meeting, want to pop in at lunch time, or prefer an evening meeting, please
send in a time that works for you with your child. You may want to send in
several times in case your first choice is taken. Your child is more than
welcome to sit in on the meeting, but he or she is not needed by me unless I
request it. Please send it at your earliest convenience.

9/30 - Homework page won't be updated for obvious reasons until Tuesday, the
6th. October calenders were sent home today. Calender on website will be
updated next week!

9/28 - 7th Grade: We will start reading The Outsiders the first full week of
October; do you need me to order you a copy?

9/24 - Social Studies and Reading test for 7th grade will be on Wednesday, the
30th.

9/21 - 8th Grade: E. A. Poe test moved to the 24th from next week!

9/17 - SS test for 8th has been moved from next Thursday to Monday, the 21st!

9/16 - 8th Grade parents: Miss Ciccanti will start collecting the graduation
fee in October. Information will be sent home.

8/17 - Just a reminder that the kids need the titles by Poe by the 15th of
September. I know that they can't wait to come back and get started, and I'm
sure the parents are looking forward to all the fun projects that will be
assigned as well. If you see this message let other parents/students know I
updated the site if you can. Thanks, Mike W

6/17 - 8th grade Parents ( 2009 - 2010 ) - From now on, it will just be
addressed to 8th grade parents. I mentioned to your children before school
ended that the copybooks that were on the list were not for me! Their SS
homework and notes copybook and 5 subject are in the class awaiting their
arrival in September. I also do not need Lysol wipes. I still have some left
over from 2007-08! We will need paper towels, tissues, and a ream of computer
paper if you could send any of that stuff in, I would be very appreciative.
Also, in September, we will be reading three short stories by Edgar Allen Poe.
The titles are The Black Cat, The Tell-Tale Heart, and The Cask of
Amontillado. I know that Poe will be read again in high school, and you can
find his collected works fairly cheaply at B&N or Borders, or online. They DO
NOT have to read these titles over the summer. In fact, I hope they don't. As
long as they have them the first full week of school, we'll be good. I will
post occasional messages as the mood strikes, so please check occasionally.
Have a good summer, Mike Walsh
