11/16/-11/24/2009 in Art class...
A HEARTFELT THANKS GOES TO MATT AND MATT GRAEBER, JR. from Graeber Sign
Studios in Norristown for all their donated art supplies. They are already
proving useful. Thanks so much for your thoughtfulness and support!!
UPPER GRADES Eighth Grade boys and girls are working on a project with a
print from our "Picturing America" collection called "Crazy Quilt"...the 19th
century quilt by Hannah and Emm Greenlee will be assembled with each panel
done by one student using modeling paste on 7" square boards. The students
also found time to make beautiful American Flag renderings for our troops
while Mrs. Luthy will be sending their letters and drawings to our Troops
abroad for the holidays.
GRADES FIFTH AND SEVENTH worked on their own Impressionist paintings using a
mixture of tempera, glue and shaving cream, all done with their fingers! They
will be hung in the 'stairway galleries".
GRADES 5th, 6th, and 7th have their watercolors, "mums thru the window panes"
hanging in the first floor stairway...light, bright paintings for Fall!
LOWER GRADES
FIRST AND SECOND GRADES brought home great big dinosaur paintings of what
they saw at the Academy of Natural Sciences...what a great trip! And I hope
you displayed their turkey puppets that they worked so hard on this week.
THIRD AND FOURTH GRADES finished decorating their Christmas paintings for our
troops abroad...they could actually be framed..great job!!
Finally, our hall and stairway Galleries will fill up soon...Be sure to
browse and praise your children for their hard work!! Happy Thanksgiving!
