Come join our summer activity program this year. Children from grades 2nd to 5th will be entering the exciting world of SUPER HEROES. From community, animal, historical, comic, and everyday heroes we will be discovering their special powers. You will be entertained by a police canine specialist. Winterthur Museum and Heintz Refuge Center. Our program will be on Thursdays at 10 am on 6/18,6/25,7/2, and 7/9.

Our Kickoff Program will be on Wednesday 6/17 at 7pm. Makin' Music Rockin' Rhythms will provide us with some cool sounds for a pleasant spring night. The whole family is welcomed.

Our Reading Program will run all summer from 6/18 to 8/31. This is for Children who are preschool and read to by their parents up to children able to read through high school. For every 3 books they read, they will receive a special coupon. For those reading 6 books, a certificate will be sent to their school.

The Magical World of Mickey

May 11, 2015

Date: Wednesday, May 13, 2015 (No Rain Date-Modified Activities Inside if Rain. Volunteers will still be needed).

Time: 8:45-1:30 (Parent Volunteers- Please arrive 20 minutes prior to your scheduled activity to help set-up).

Theme: Disney

Dress: Gym Shorts/Shirt (unless purchased field day T-Shirt) & Sneakers

PARKING: PLEASE DO NOT PARK IN THE SCHOOL PARKING LOT (8:00AM TO 2:00PM). We need to keep the lot free of cars to provide room for the students to participate in field day. There is limited parking at the Aquatic Swim Club due to the work being done by the water company.

Water: Please send to school on field day a water bottle filled with water and ice. Clearly mark the bottle with your child’s name. The children may refill their bottles at snack and lunch time.

Lunch: The Home & School Association will provide Chick-fil-A & a drink for the children. If your child does not like Chick-fil-A, please send a lunch to school on this day.

Sun Block: Please remember to apply sun block.

Field Day Booklet: The Booklet has the Parent Volunteer Schedules, Classroom Schedules, and Games/Directions. It has been posted to the OLA Web Site. Please visit the front page of for the Field Day 2015 booklet.

The annual OLF CYO sports banquet will be held on Saturday 6/6 immediately following the 4:00 mass in the parish hall. All students who played any CYO sport this year will be recognized. Tickets are $15 per person. Tickets can be ordered through Kathy Callahan at or Amy Polito at Orders can also be sent to school c/o sam polito 8a or tara Callahan 6a. No tickets may be purchased if all uniforms are not returned. Please include cash or check made out to OLF CYO with order


We are attempting to add more opportunities for our 3rd and 4th graders to be involved in the CYO. Some possibilities are flag football, volleyball, cheerleading and basketball. Any child can play as long as their parish does not have that sport for their age group. We are attempting to see how much interest there is. Please send your email address to and we will add you to our future emails if you might be interested. Please forward to any 3rd or 4th grader you know who might be interested.


Registration for fall sports will be accepted at the banquet with payment. We will also hold registrations over the summer. Dates will follow. Fall sports include soccer (5-8 grade), volleyball (5-8 grade) football (5-8 grade), football cheerleading (3-8 grade), and cross country (2-8 grade). All grades are for the 2015-2016 school year.

Reminder: If you are dropping off your child in the car line in the morning, please DO NOT cut through the parking lot. Follow the car line around past the rectory, it is for safety reasons we ask this. Thank you for your cooperation.

If you are parking and walking students to the front of the gym, you must park towards the rectory and walk on the sidewalk to the gym. Please do not cross the car rider line. If you are in the car line, please pull forward as directed.

As a reminder... ALL students should arrive to school no later than 8:00 am. The bell rings at 8:00 am.

In addition, our school closing number on KYW is 545 in case of bad weather or emergencies. Thank you!

Parents must call the school by 8:30 am if your child is absent from school. If your child is absent from school for 3 or more days, you must provide a doctor's excuse. A written excuse must be sent in with your child upon their return to school. If your child has a serious illness (ex. step throat), please notify the school ASAP. Thank you!
