Welcome Back!!


This web page is for OMC parents for updates on tests, projects, and classroom news.
Subjects that are covered: Math grades 5-8, Religion 6, Science 5, and First in Math after school program

Week of 9/12
All workbooks should be covered in contact paper.

All grades have their math maintenance quizzes on thurs. 9/15

Look out for First in Math registration forms next week!

Week of 9/19

All First in Math registrations are due by Friday

Grades 5, 6, and 8 maintenance quizzes are Thurs. this week.  7th is Friday

Grade 8 first test is Mon. 9/26 on Ch. 2

Grade 5 first test is early next week (probably Tues.)

Grade 7 will choose their stocks for their project next week.


Week of 9/26

First in Math acceptance letters will be sent home this week.

6th -  Ch. 6 test this thurs. next maintenance quiz monday 10/3

5th- Ch. 2 test this Wed.  next maintenance quiz monday 10/3

7th- Ch. 2 test this Thurs.  next maintenance quiz wed. 10/5

8th- Ch. 2 test Tues. 9/27. next quiz tues. 10/4


Week of 10/10

Parent/Teacher conferences are next week. The scheduling notice is coming home in the family envelope Tuesday.  Be sure to indicate that you want to see me if I'm not your child's homeroom teacher.


First in Math continues Mondays and Fridays.  Keep those stickers coming!!!


5th grade has a science test on Ch. 16 tues. 10/11 and a main. quiz for math on Mon. 10/10.


6th has a religion test and math main. quiz on mon. 10/10.


7th has a main. quiz wed. 10/12 and will continue their stock market project this week.


8th has a main. quiz tues. 10/11


Week of 10/24

Students are off from school next monday and tuesday (10/31 & 11/1)

No First in Math for the Tuesday group next week (11/1)


5th- test on multiplying/dividing decimals this thurs. (10/27)
       - maintenance quiz tues. (10/25)

6th-  Test on ch. 7 this thurs. (10/27) changing percents to fractions,decimals; probability; percent proportion
       - maintenance quiz wed. (10/26)

7th- test on ch.3 this fri. (10/28) solving equations
      - maintenance quiz next wed. (11/2)

8th- test ch. 8 part I this fri. (10/28) solving complex equations
        -  maintenance quiz wed. (10/26)

Week of 11/2
Next Monday 11/14 we have a field trip to the Kimmel Center.  Be sure to return permission slips.

5th- beginning fraction unit this week.  Maintnenance quiz next Wed. 11/9
         Science Ch.17 test next thurs. 11/10


6th- multipliyng/dividing decimals begins this week. Maintenance quiz next Wed. 11/9
       

7th- Algebra Inequalities; quiz next Wed. 11/9


8th- Real-Life Algebra project this week, due Tues. 11/8.  Maintenance quiz Tues. 11/8

First Trimester ends 12/2!

5th-  add/subtract fractions; maintenance quiz 12/2


6th- graphing; main. quiz 12/2


7th- applying percents; main. quiz 12/2


8th- solving/graphing linear equations; main. quiz 12/2

2nd trimester begins Monday
6th grade can bring in cans of tuna for the food drive
Report cards are issued the 12th

5th- Science Ch. 18 test Thurs. 12/8
Maintenance quiz Fri. 12/9
Math Test on Ch. 9 Fri 12/9 or Mon. 12/12 will update when confirmed


-6th- Religion Test Ch. 6 & 7 Fri. 12/9
