This Week


Week of May 26th.


Preschool reviewed transportation vocabulary (medios de transporte). We sang many songs about trucks, boats and cars. We played games


Kindergarten reviewed what they have learned. We did games and songs to practice numbers, colors, clothing and body parts.


First Grade played games to review what they have learned. This week we reviewed numbers, colors, food, and body parts.


Second Grade had a quiz on Spanish verbs(action words). We reviewed the alphabet.


Third Grade started learning about Spanish verbs (action words). I taught them how to conjugate in first person (I/Yo). Comer means to eat, but to say I eat in Spanish we say Yo como....Also, we play charades...so much fun!


Fourth Grade had a quiz on La Familia / Family members and possessive adjectives. They worked in groups with a book El mundo de Felipe, to complete a special assignment for extra credit.


Fifth Grade some students presented their Spanish project for extra credit. We read Carl no quiere ir a Mexico chapter 8.


Sixth Grade started learning about how to ask what questions in Spanish, also they learned about asking for the time and how to say the time in spanish.


Seventh Grade did not have a class this week.


Eight Grade watched the Patricia va a California movie. They ate Palmeritas while watching....They love them!

 


Week of May 19th.


Preschool reviewed transportation vocabulary (medios de transporte). We sang many songs about trucks, boats and cars. We played a memory game with the projector.


Kindergarten reviewed transportation vocabulary (medios de transporte). We worked on 2 connect the dots worksheets in class.


First Grade played games to review what they have learned.


Second Grade reviewed Spanish verbs meanings and how to conjugate them in first person. I introduced the verbs gustar (like), querer (want) and necesitar (need).The students practiced writing some sentences.


Third Grade presented the skit "Los tres cerditos" to parents and 2nd grade. They were fenomenal!


Fourth Grade had a quiz on La Familia / Family members. They started learning about relationships using possessive adjectives.


Fifth Grade presented their Spanish project for extra credit.


Sixth Grade had a quiz on Er/Ir ending verbs. We played a game in teams to practice verbs meanings.


Seventh Grade presented their skit "Hace Tanto Calor". They were GREAT!


Eight Grade presented their skit "Los Horarios de Clase". They were really good! We finished the book Patricia va a California.

Third Grade reviewed commands in Spanish. We practiced the skit.


Fourth Grade started learning about La Familia / Family members. We read Las Aventuras de Isabella last chapter.


Fifth Grade presented their skits ¿Qué debo llevar?.... They were really good. Thank you to the family members that were able to come.


Sixth Grade presented their skits ¿Cómo está tú familia?.... They were really good. Thank you to the family members that were able to come. We read Berto y sus buenas ideas last chapter.


Seventh Grade did their Spanish project oral presentation. The students practiced their skits.

Third Grade had a quiz on adjectives. We started learning about commands in Spanish. We practiced the skit.


Fourth Grade presented a weather report to the class. They were very interesting reports!


Fifth Grade had a quiz on Er-Ir ending verbs. We read Carl no quiere ir a Mexico chapter 6 They also practiced the skit.


Sixth Grade reviewed Er and Ir ending verbs meaning and conjugation. We did two worksheets in class to practice. We watched and sang ¿Qué Comes?. They practiced their skits.


Seventh Grade watched the  Pobre Ana movie. After the movie we discussed some scenes. They practiced their skits.


Eight Grade read Patricia va a California chapters 8, 9, 10 and 11.

Fourth Grade had a quiz about the weather. We read Las Aventuras de Isabela chapters 8 and 9.


Fifth Grade reviewed Er ending verbs, and learned about Ir ending verbs. They also practiced the skit.


Sixth Grade learned Er and Ir ending verbs meaning and conjugation. We did several examples in class to practice conjugation. We watched a video/song to learn more about this verbs. They practiced their skits.


Seventh Grade read Pobre Ana chapter 9. The students practiced their skits.


Eight Grade reviewed Saber and Conocer, they did a worksheet in class to practice. They learned a new verb "Poder" in english "Can". We did some examples in class, and they worked on a handout. They practiced their skits too.


 


Week of April 21th.


Preschool reviewed "los animales perro, gato, vaca, pájaro, oso, pato, pollito, caballo, oveja and cerdo. We watched some farm animals videos on the projector. Kindergarten reviewed Las Partes del Cuerpo (Body Parts). We sang Hola Amigos, and "Mi Cuerpo" and other body parts songs. We played El Juego de Chirimbolo.


First Grade had a quiz on the alphabet. We played bingo.


Second Grade reviewed commands in Spanish from last week. We played bingo, and Around the world


Third Grade reviewed adjectives in Spanish. We listen to a song that is about opposites. We practiced the skit.


Fourth Grade started learning about the weather, They worked on a weather report.

 

Fifth Grade had a quiz on Ar ending verbs. We started learning about Er ending verbs, what they mean and how to conjugate them. The students practiced in class by completing a worksheet. They also practiced the skit.


Sixth Grade had a quiz on "Estar" and the weather. We read Berto y sus buenas ideas chapter 5. The students practiced their skits.


Seventh Grade read Pobre Ana chapter 8. The students practiced their skits.


Eight Grade started learning two new verbs Saber and Conocer, both mean To Know. The students learned how to conjugate and the rules to use them. We did some examples in class, and they worked on a handout. They practiced their skits too.


 

Week of April 14th.

Fourth Grade had a quiz on la casa. We read Las Aventuras de Isabela chapter 7.

Kindergarten reviewed Las Partes del Cuerpo (Body Parts). We sang Hola Amigos, and "Mi Cuerpo". We played El Juego de Chirimbolo to practice body parts.


First Grade reviewed the Spanish alphabet. We watch a video called Orale el alfabeto. The children watch a Power Point presentation to practice the letters sounds. We played a memory game using the projector. They really liked this activity.

Second Grade started learning about commands in Spanish like cut, glue, open, close, etc. We did an exercise where I gave the children directions in Spanish and they followed them.


Third Grade reviewed gender of nouns, articles and plurals. They started a worksheet in class. We practiced the skit.


Fourth Grade had a quiz on la cocina, el comedor and el baño. The learned new vocabulary for Bedroom (la recámara) and Garden (el jardín). We played El Ahorcado (hangman).


Fifth Grade review ar ending verbs meaning and conjugation. We checked together the homework from last week. We worked in a worksheet to practice more.


Sixth Grade reviewed "Estar" and  the weather. They completed a worksheet in class and we checked it.


Seventh Grade had a quiz on Er and Ir ending verbs, we read Pobre Ana chapter 7.


Eight Grade
had a quiz on Dar (To Give), we read Patricia va a California chapter 7.

 


Week of March 31 st.

Preschool started learning "Los Animales". They learned perro, gato, vaca, pájaro, oso, pato, pollito, caballo, oveja and cerdo. We sang En La Granja de mi Tío and dance Con Cosmos ( a very special dog).


Kindergarten reviewed Las Partes del Cuerpo (Body Parts).We sang Hola Amigos, and "Mi Cuerpo". We played El Juego de Chirimbol to practice body parts.


First Grade took a quiz on animals. They started learning about the Spanish alphabet. We watch a video with a very catchy song.


Second Grade students took a quiz on adjectives. The wrote more sentences. We played Around The World.


Third Grade reviewed gender of nouns, articles and plurals. They started a worksheet in class. We practiced the skit.


Fourth Grade had a quiz on la casa and la sala. The learned vocabulary for dining room (comedor), kitchen (cocina) and bathroom (baño). We played around the world.


Fifth Grade review ar ending verbs meaning and conjugation. We listen to the song en la clase. The did some sentences using the verbs. We played Burrito Builder to review. They practiced their skits.


Sixth Grade reviewed "Ser". They learned about the other To Be verb "Estar", when to use it and conjugation. They learned about the weather using estar.


Seventh Grade reviewed Er and Ir ending verbs, the meaning of the most frequently used verbs and how to conjugate them. They worked on worksheet in class ( recognizing verbs from Pobre Ana chapter 7.


Eight Grade
reviewed Dar (To Give), we review Indirect Object Pronouns and Possessive Adjectives. They completed a worksheet in class.

 

Week of March 24th.


Preschool reviewed "La Ropa". We kept playing the game juguemos en el bosque. We took turns to be the wolf.


Kindergarten started learning Las Partes del Cuerpo (Body Parts).We sang Hola Amigos, and "Mi Cuerpo".


First Grade reviewed Los Animales de la Granja (Farm Animals) vaca(cow) - gallina (hen) - caballo (horse) - oveja (sheep) - pavo (turkey) - perro (dog) - cerdo (gato) - cabra (goat) - pájaro (bird) - pez(fish) - conejo (rabbit) - tortuga (turttle) - rana (frog) - serpiente/culebra (snake) - cordero (lamb) - ganso (goose) - gallo (rooster) - pollito (chicken) - pato (duck). We watch a video En la Granja de Mi Tío (you can find it in the link songs), and we played bingo.


Second Grade we reviewed adjectives alegre/feliz (happy) - triste (sad) - n(new) - viejo (old) - pequeño (small) - grande (big) - feo (ugly) - bonito (pretty) - limpio (clean) - sucio (dirty). Colors rojo - azul - amarillo - verde - rosado - morado - anaranjado - negro - blanco - marrón/café. We did a worksheet in class to practice.


Third Grade started learning about articles in Spanish, how to say "THE" and how to say "A/AN and SOME" They completed a worksheet in class. We practiced the skit.


Fourth Grade started La Casa unit. We are reviewed vocabulary from last year, and learning some new words. We played Around The World.


Fifth Grade started learning Ar ending verbs. Hablar (to talk) - bailar (to dance) - estudiar (to study) - entrar (to enter) - llegar (to arrive) - nadir (to swim) - caminar (to walk) - cocinar (to cook) - limpiar (to clean) - tocar (to touch/To play(instruments) - llenar (to fill) - tartar (to try) - visitor (to visit). We watch a video called En La Clase, the song help students to remember how to conjugate Ar verbs.


Sixth Grade took a quiz on professions vocabulary and the Verb To Be "Ser". We read Berto y sus buenas ideas chapter 4.


Seventh Grade reviewed Er and Ir ending verbs, the meaning of the most frequently used verbs and how to conjugate them. They students wrote sentences in their copybooks to practice. We watch the video ¿Qué Comes?. All Students practiced their skits in front of the class.


Eight Grade started learning Dar (To Give), we review Indirect Object Pronouns and Possessive Adjectives. They completed a worksheet in class, and they wrote a sentences in English using To Give, to be translated into Spanish.

 

Week of March 17th.

Kindergarten reviewed La Ropa (clothes). We sang Hola Amigos, and we played bingo to review clothing vocabulary.


First Grade reviewed Los Animales de la Granja (Farm Animals) from last week vaca(cow) - gallina (hen) - caballo (horse) - oveja (sheep) - pavo (turkey) - perro (dog) - cerdo (gato) - cabra (goat) - pájaro (bird). They learned new animals pez(fish) - conejo (rabbit) - tortuga (turttle) - rana (frog) - serpiente/culebra (snake) - cordero (lamb) - ganso (goose) - gallo (rooster) - pollito (chicken) - pato (duck). They started a bingo card, which we will use next week.


Second Grade no class (mass)


Third Grade completed 2 worksheets in class to review the house vocabulary. They started learning about singular and plural nouns in Spanish and how to make nouns plural.


Fourth Grade presented their restaurant - cafeteria skits to parents. I am so proud of my students. They all did an OUTSTANDING job. They talked like native speakers :).


Fifth Grade took a quiz on clothing. We read Carl no quiere ir a Mexico chapter 6. They had a little time to practice their skits.


Sixth Grade reviewed professions vocabulary and the Verb To Be "Ser". They completed a worksheet in class.


Seventh Grade started a new lesson on Er and Ir ending verbs, the meaning of the most frequently used verbs and how to conjugate them. They students wrote sentences in their copybooks to practice.


Eight Grade learned how to express like and dislike with the verb GUSTAR. They learned that in order to use that verb they need to use specials pronouns (me - te - le - nos - les). We did several exercises in class to practice.

 


Week of March 10th.


Preschool reviewed "La Ropa". We kept playing the game juguemos en el bosque. We took turns to be the wolf.


Kindergarten reviewed La Ropa (clothes). We sang and play Juguemos en el bosque. All the children got to be the WOLF.


First Grade had a quiz on La Familia (family members). We started learning about Los Animales de la Granja (Farm Animals). They learned vaca(cow) - gallina (hen) - caballo (horse) - oveja (sheep) - pavo (turkey) - perro (dog) - cerdo (gato) - cabra (goat) - pájaro (bird).


Second Grade started learning about adjectives, we even started writing small sentences with the vocabulary we had learned in previous lessons and adjectives.


Third Grade finished all about La Casa (the house). We studied El Garaje (Garage), and El Patio/ Jardín (Patio - Garden) . The children practiced their skit.


Fourth Grade reviewed commands and expressions, we played a game in teams. They practice their skits. 4th Grade will be presenting their skits on Wednesday, March 19th at 1:50 pm. All parents are invited.


Fifth Grade reviewed clothes vocabulary. They complete a handout in class and practiced their skits.


Sixth Grade learned about the verb To Be "Ser", how to conjugate it, and when to use it. The students did several exercises in class. They practiced the skit.


Seventh Grade took a quiz on Jugar/Tocar. We read Pobre Ana chapter 6. They completed an activity in groups.


Eight Grade took a quiz on Querer / Ir. We read Patricia va a California chapter 6, students started completing a worksheet in class.

 

 

Week of March 3rd.


Preschool started learning about clothing "La Ropa". We played a game called juguemos en el bosque. Its is about a wolf that is getting dress to come out and eat the children that are playing in the forest. Some of the children got to be the wolf.


Kindergarten no class / Ash Wednesday mass.


First Grade reviewed La Familia (family members). We talked about our families, who lives in my house... En mi casa vive mi papá, mi mamá....... We played bingo!


Second Grade took a quiz on La comunidad / The community. They played a game called name that place, and finished the class playing Around the world.


Third Grade kept learning all about La Casa (the house). We studied La Cocina (kitchen), El Comedor (dining room) and El baño (bathroom). The children practiced their skit.


Fourth Grade learned about commands and expressions in Spanish. They practice their skits. 4th Grade will be presenting their skits on Wednesday, March 19th. All parents are invited.


Fifth Grade started learning about clothes and the verb llevar ( llevo puesto/I am wearing). They practiced their skits.


Sixth Grade learned about the verb To Be "Ser", how to conjugate it, and when to use it. The students did several exercises in class. They practiced the skit.


Seventh Grade reviewed sports and instruments vocabulary, we reviewed the verbs tocar,  jugar and practicar.  They completed a worksheet in class and practiced the skit.


Eight Grade reviewed Querer (to want) and Ir (to go). We reviewed the homework in class. They practiced their skits.

 

 


Week of February 24th.


Preschool reviewed Las Partes del Cuerpo / Body Parts. We sang Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes in Spanish. We played El Juego de Chirimbolo (a body parts game). They had tons of fun!


Kindergarten started learning La ropa (clothing). We played with a song called "Juguemos en el bosque" it is about a wolf that is getting dress to come out and eat all the kids. They had a lot of fun!


First Grade  started learning about La Familia (family members). They have a minibook with all the vocabulary.  They started a bingo card to play next week.


Second Grade  reviewed the community places vocabulary. We played around the world and bingo.


Third Grade started learning all about La Casa (the house). With this unit they are going to work on a special project " MY BREAM HOUSE". We practiced the skit for Los 3 cerditos (three little pigs).


Fourth Grade  had a quiz on definite articles. We read Las aventuras de Isabela chapter 6. They practiced the skit.


Fifth Grade: had a quiz on sports. We read Carl no quiere ir a Mexico chapter 4.


Sixth Grade had a quiz on adjectives. We read Berto y sus buenas ideas chapter 3. They practiced the skit in class.


Seventh Grade learned about the verbs Tocar and Jugar, both mean in English To Play. the learned when to use them and how to conjugate them. They completed a worksheet in class.


 

Eight Grade learned two new verbs Querer (to want) and Ir (to go). They practice how to conjugate them and hor to use them. We combined Querer with another verb in its infinitive form to express the desire to do something. We can combined Ir (voy a ....) with a verb in infitive to express future (going to).


Week of February 17th.


Preschool reviewed Las Partes del Cuerpo / Body Parts. We learned Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes in Spanish.  We listened and dance to many Spanish songs and played A La Vívora De La Mar (Latin American Game)


Kindergarten reviewed La Familia, and kept acting the story Los Tres Osos y Ricitos de Oro / Goldilock and the three bears. We played and sang.


First Grade took a quiz on body parts. We played El Juego de Chirimbolo. We played bingo.


Second Grade started learning about the community places in Spanish. We explore the questions ¿Dónde vives? (where do you live?), ¿Qué lugares hay cerca de tu casa? (What places are close to your house?).


Third Grade we practiced the skit for Los 3 cerditos (three little pigs). It is looking good!


Fourth Grade started learning about definite articles THE in Spanish has 4 different forms ( EL - LA - LOS - LAS). They practiced the skit.


Fifth Grade: reviewed sports vocabulary. We started practicing a clothing skit.


Sixth Grade reviewed adjectives. They practiced the skit in class.


Seventh Grade had a quiz on Ser. We read Pobre Ana chapter 5. We played a game related to the book.


Eight Grade had a quiz on Tener que. We read Patricia va a California Chapter 5. They started practicing a skit on Class Schedules

 

 


Week of February 10th.


Preschool started learning Las Partes del Cuerpo / Body Parts. We read Caperucita Roja / Little Red Riding Hood. We listened to songs and Played A La Vívora De La Mar (Latin American Game)


Kindergarten reviewed La Familia, and started acting the story Los Tres Osos y Ricitos de Oro / Goldilock and the three bears. We played and sang.


First Grade reviewed body parts. We played El Juego de Chirimbolo. They started preparing a body parts bingo card.


Second Grade had a quiz on food. We worked in class with fruits and vegetables. We played bingo.


Third Grade started practicing the skit for  Los 3 cerditos (three little pigs).


Fourth Grade had a quiz on Gender of Nouns. We read Las Aventuras de Isabela capítulo 5 (chapter 5). They practiced their skits.

Preschool reviewed La comida/food, we listened Soy Una Pizza . We sang and played in Spanish.


Kindergarten started learning about family members. We read the story Los Tres Osos (Goldilock and the three bears). We sang and played Spanish style.


First Grade reviewed body parts. We played El Juego de Chirimbolo. The students did an activity with their grandparents. They started working on a Body Parts worksheet.


Second Grade reviewed food learned the previous week, and I introduced some vegetables. We played bingo.


Third Grade reviewed the animals vocabulary. We watched Los 3 cerditos (three little pigs). We started working on a skit.


Fourth Grade learned about gender of nouns. We practiced in class by completing a worksheet.



Fifth Grade finished reading Carl no quiere ir a Mexico. I introduced the Sport vocabulary.


Sixth Grade learned about adjectives. Students completed a worksheet. We started working on a skit.


Seventh Grade started learning the verb to be "SER". They completed a worksheet in class. We started working on a skit.

Seventh Grade had a quiz on Ar/Estar verbs. We read Pobre Ana chapter 4 and played a game in teams using the book.


Eight Grade went over the test answers, we reviewed ser/estar. Also they started learning the verb To Have / Tener. We did several exercises in class to practice.

Week of January 13th.


Preschool reviewed La comida/food, we watched the video Soy Una Pizza and Las Frutas, we talked about the food that we like and don't like. We sang and played too.


Kindergarten reviewed la comida/food vocabulary, we listen to the song Soy una Pizza and played food Domino.


First Grade had a clothing quiz, and we started on body parts. They watched videos related, if you go to my link songs, they will be able to watch them again.


Second Grade
had a clothing quiz, and we started on food. They watched a video "Las Frutas"


Third Grade had a quiz on body parts and started learning about animals. We watched 2 videos " Los Animales" and "En La Granja de Mi Tío"


Fourth Grade had a days of the week, months and seasons of the year quiz. We read Las Aventuras de Isabela chapter 4. We practiced the skits....looking good!!! You will be able to see them perform them soon.


Fifth Grade reviewed occupations and possessives adjectives. We reviewed homework, and worked on a handout in class. Also, we played Around the world to practice occupations and family vocabulary.


Sixth Grade had a ar ending verbs quiz, they learned how to ask and answer questions using ar verbs. We worked on a handout in class.


Seventh Grade started learning the verb to be "ESTAR". We discussed when to use it (to express location, action, condition and emotion) in other words where you are and how you feel. We did many exercises in class to practice. We played in two teams to review.


Eight Grade had a quiz on Ser/Estar. We read Patricia va a California chapter 4.

Preschool reviewed La comida/food, we read the book A Mi Abuela le Gusta Cocinar, we talked about the food that we like and don't like. We sang and  played too.


Kindergarten reviewed la comida/food vocabulary, we watched the video Soy una Pizza and played a game online....building a pizza, so much fun!


First Grade reviewed clothing words, and we played bingo.


Second Grade

Third Grade reviewed the body parts vocabulary " Las Partes del Cuerpo", we played El Juego de Chirimbolo, and bingo.


Fourth Grade reviewed the days of the week, months and seasons of the year. We did some worksheets in class and practice our dialogues. Soon parents are going to be able to watch them perform theirs skits.


Fifth Grade reviewed different professions, and family members. I introduced  possessive adjectives, how to express my, your, his, her, our in Spanish. We did several examples. We played bingo.


Sixth Grade learned how to conjugate ar ending verbs, we watched a video with a catchy song to help them remember the endings for each subject pronoun. We completed a worksheet in class to practice conjugation.


Seventh Grade review ar ending verbs, meaning and how to conjugate them. I introduced 10 more ar ending verbs. We listened to the song En La Clase and tried to fill in the blank for the missing words. We did a worksheet in class to practice. We played Hands Off in teams. Isabella's team won!


Eight Grade reviewed when to use Ser or Estar, how to conjugate them. We did several exercises in class to practice. We played a game in teams.

First Grade  reviewed clothes vocabulary / La Ropa (pantalones - gorro(a) - camisa - zapatos - vestido - calcetines/medias - chaqueta - botas - mochila) and introduced new words (chaqueta - abrigo - falda - guantes - pantalones cortos - botas). We sang "Donde Están Mis Botas" and "Ponte La Camisa ya"


Second Grade

First Grade reviewed food vocabulary. We talked about food that we like, don't like, like a lot or don't like at all . "Me gusta", "No me gusta",  "Me gusta mucho" and " No me gusta nada". We also talked about the food we eat in Thanksgiving.


Second Grade reviewed
Los Objetos de La Clase/ Classroom Objects (libro, tijeras, ventana, silla, pluma, lápiz, cuaderno, mesa, puerta, escritorio, borrador, papel, regla, salón de clases, bandera, pizarra, and tiza). They played Hands Off in teams.


Third Grade learned about the difference between tú and usted (you). The students completed a worksheet classifying different people according to the way you should treat them (formal or informal). I introduced to the class a song we will be singing on the Lady of Guadalupe mass. It is called " La Guadalupana"


Fourth Grade reviewed numbers from 0 to 60. We practiced La Guadalupana and the dialogues.

Third Grade reviewed Month of the year and Seasons. We watched two videos related to the topic. I got them singing months and seasons with two catchy songs.


Fourth Grade reviewed food and restaurant vocabulary, I divided the class in team of two to assign a skit dialogue, we went over vocabulary and pronunciation. The Special Spanish Project " Restaurant Menu" was also assigned, each student got the country they are going to work with.



Fifth Grade reviewed months, seasons and dates. We discussed characteristics of each seasons. The students chose what Famous Hispanic persons they are going to work on for the Special Spanish Project.

Sixth Grader took a quiz on days of the week, months, and date. They were assigned the country they are going to research for the Special Spanish Project. We read Berto y sus Buenas Ideas Chapter 1.

Preschool learned Halloween words in Spanish, We danced to Los Esqueletos (a Skeleton song). We read Clifford's First Halloween.

First Grade took a colors quiz. They learned some Halloween words in Spanish. We reviewed colors and numbers, and we finished by dancing the song "Los Esqueletos"


Second Grade took the days of the week quiz. They learned some Halloween words in Spanish, and we watched "Los Esqueletos" Video.


Third Graders were introduced to the Hispanic Holiday the Day of the Dead (Día de los Muertos). We read some information about it and we watched a video on vimeo.com


Fourth Graders studied about El Día de Los Muertos (Day of the Dead), they watched a video about it. Students presented their dialogues for extra credit.


Fifth Grade
No class this week. I handed a Day of the Dead packet for them to read about it and complete their worksheets. Also, I gave them a link to watch a video about Día de Los Muertos.

Sixth Graders learned about Día de Los Muertos through a Power Point Presentation and 2 videos. We logged on Smithsonian Latino Center and they built their own Altar.

Second Grade reviewed Days of the week (lunes-martes-miércoles-jueves-viernes-sábado-domingo). We sang Días de la semana, and played The Calendar Game.


Third Graders reviewed Month of the year. We sang "Los meses del año". They learned about the seasons. We played bingo.


Fourth Graders had a quiz on mealtime-food. I introduced new vocabulary. They practice a dialogue "Student Schedule"

First Grade reviewed numbers from 0 to 20. We played bingo to review the lesson.


Second Grade had a numbers dictation 0- 20, they all did very well. We studied the numbers from 21 to 40. They prepared a bingo card and we played bingo to review the lesson.


Third Graders reviewed the numbers from 0-40. We watched a video "Cuenta". We started today numbers from 41-60.They watch a Power Point presentation about numbers, we sang "Cuenta"and another number song. To end the lesson we played a number game.


Fourth Graders had a quiz on class objects and plural of nouns. We read " Las Aventuras de Isabela" chapter 1 and played Rag to Riches in teams to review the first chapter.


Fifth Graders
learned about Hispanic Heritage month, they watched a power point presentation and we discussed about some important contributions Hispanics have made to this country. We did a listening practice with a famous Hispanic song "Guantanamera" by Celia Cruz, the students filled in the blank the words they heard. We listened and danced Salsa after. The activity exceeded my expectations, Great Job 5th Grade!

Sixth Graders had a quiz on numbers from 0 to a million. They also learned about Hispanic Heritage month, they watched a power point presentation and we discussed about some important contributions Hispanics have made to this country. We did a listening practice with a famous Hispanic song "Raza de mil colores" by Ricky Martin, the students filled in the blank the words they heard. We listened and watched the video after. Way to go 6th Grade!


Seventh Graders learned about Hispanic Heritage month, they watched a power point presentation and we discussed about some important contributions Hispanics have made to this country. We did a listening practice with a famous Hispanic song "Tradición" by Gloria Estefan, the students filled in the blank the words they heard. We listened and danced to the complete song after. They did a great job!

Kindergarten reviewed numbers from 0 to 10, I introduced from 11 to 15. The children learn how to say their age in Spanish. Tengo ....... años. We danced, we sang and we played Latin American style.


First Grade reviewed numbers from 0 to 10, and I introduced from 11 to 20. We played a game to review the lesson.


Second Grade started on numbers from 0-20. They prepared a bingo card, and we even have a chance to play. I got 3 winners!


Third Graders started learning the numbers from 0-40. We watched a video "Cuenta". They watch a Power Point presentation about numbers, and to conclude the class we played numbers hangman in teams.


Fourth Graders had a quiz on class objects. We went over the rules on how to make a noun plural. We did a listening practice, I dictated a word and the students wrote them in singular  and plural. We prepared a bingo card, and played.

First Grade reviewed Spanish greetings and feelings. I introduced the the numbers from 0 to 10. They completed a worksheet in class, and we played Around the World.


Second Grade reviewed the greeting vocabulary, polite words, and the times of the day vocabulary. We played Siéntate.


Third Graders  reviewed the Spanish Alphabet by checking the homework, we practice the letters sound by singing Orale El Alfabeto. Also, they played Bingo.


Fourth Graders presented a Spanish dialogues in class. I introduced the classroom objects vocabulary. They completed a worksheet in class.

Preschool had Spanish for the first time this week. It was VERY FUN! We sang Good Morning and the class rules in Spanish. They learned how to say hello, good bye, and respond ¿Cómo te llamas?(What is your name?), me llamo.....We sang and dance, and we even have time to playa game.


Kindergarten reviewed Spanish greetings and feelings. We read a book called Margaret and Margarita. We also sang, dance, and play a game.


First Grade reviewed Spanish greetings and feelings. I introduced the polite words vocabulary.


Second Grade reviewed the greeting vocabulary and polite words. I introduced the times of the day vocabulary ( Buenos Días, Buenas Tardes, y Buenas Noches).


Third Graders learned the Spanish Alphabet, we went over how the letters sound in Spanish. Also, they copy a Spanish word for each letter of the alphabet. We watched a video " Orale El Alfabeto. They started preparing a Bingo Card to play bingo next week.

They chose a SPANISH NAME from a list, they looked very excited about having a different name! Working with a classmate they completed a worksheet in class.


Fifth Graders
started the class by greeting each other in Spanish, they completed individually a worksheet to evaluate how much they remembered from last year. We reviewed the frequently used expressions and commands together. We even had time to play the Si/No game. Now they have a SPANISH NAME, they chose their own name from a list. Ask your child about it!


Sixth Graders started by reviewing polite words, greetings, feelings,and farewells. Also, we reviewed the difference between Tú and Usted. They learned about introducing themselves and meeting others. The students had the opportunity to choose from a list their own SPANISH NAME, they all are pretty excited about it.
