<div><font  color="#800000"><strong><span  style="color: #000000; font-weight: normal; ">The Philadelphia Archdiocese Track and Field Championships were held May 30 at Franklin Field in Philadelphia.  The meet pits the top 24 archdiocese athletes in each event against each other.  The competition is always extremely tough and medals and points are tough to come by.  In fact, in school history, prior to this year, our medal haul has been limited to three -- two fourth place medals and one sixth place.  I'm proud to say that we more than doubled the school medal count yesterday and all the PJP II participants turned in outstanding performances.  If the ability to perform under pressure is any measure of character -- then these kids have alot of it.</span></strong></font></div>

<div><font  color="#800000"><strong><span  style="color: #000000; font-weight: normal; ">- <strong>Sidonie Warnecker</strong> went into the meet with the heavy burden of being the favorite in two of her three events.  She exceeded expectations by becoming Archdiocese Champion in all three of her events, winning convincingly in each.  Her times in the 100 (14.08 seconds) and 200 meters (29.51 seconds) rank her in the top 5 in the 37 years since records have been kept by the Archdiocese.  Her jump of 13'3.5" in the long jump is ninth all time.  Not a bad day -  c<strong>ongratulations Sidonie !</strong><br />
- <strong>Jake O'Neill</strong> beat his personal best in the 1600 by 7 seconds en route to a sixth place medal.  His time of 5:48 elcipses the school record of 5:53 set in 2003 by Patrick McGinley, Caitlin's brother.  Patrick also earned a sixth place medal at Archdiocese that year.<br />
- The 4 x 200 meter novice boys relay team bettered their best time by 4 seconds and placed seventh overall.  They won their heat in dramatic fashion as <strong>Michael Muir</strong> ran down the competition in the final 20 meters for the victory.  The other relay team members were <strong>Michael Bohm, Ernie Haiko, Jake O'Neill, and Drew Furcon.<br />
</strong>- <strong>Saskia Walkes</strong> improved her personal best in the triple jump by 20 inches and placed eighth.<br />
- <strong>Michael Bohm</strong> threw the shot put a foot and a half further than he ever has to finish 10th, just 8.5" out of medal contention.<br />
- <strong>Lindsey Kuhn</strong> shaved almost a second and a half off her personal best to place 14th in the 400.<br />
- <strong>Ciara Forde</strong> proved that her big performance at Areas was no fluke by nailing a couple of big jumps to place 14th in the long jump.</span></strong></font></div>

<div>Congratulations to the PJP II track team members who represented the school at the Penn Relays on Tuesday 4/21.  Each of the four relay teams turned in their best performance of the year.  The teams were:</div>
