How does the traffic light system work?
Each child has a numbered clothespin which starts out on the green light every day. If a child is doing something he/she shouldn't be doing, I give them a couple warnings. If it continues, I tell the child to go move his/her clothespin to the yellow light. If the behavior continues or the child does something else not appropriate, I will tell the child to move the clothespin to red. Once it is on red, a note will get sent home. At the end of each day, the children have traffic light charts in their folders they color in for whatever color they got.Back to Top
