About The Teacher

I've been teaching and learning from children for 30 years now!  I've 
been in kindergarten, first and multiage classrooms all in the Avon Grove 
School District.  

I live in Arden, Delaware with several cats!  I have a daughter and great friend,  
Sam, who graduated from Haverford College and is teaching now also!  I enjoy 
reading, contra dancing, crosswords, volleyball, and teaching.  I'm also a contra dance 
caller in the Philadelphia area.

Mission For The Class

The multiage philosophy is an important one to me.  It feels right to have 
children for more than one year.  I really get to know them, as well as their 
families, and can better know how to support them on their learning journey.  

I hold out high expectations for the children academically, but even more 
important to me is the child's self esteem and the sense of community 
within the classroom.  

I feel that the multiage configuration  mirrors that of a family in which 
every member is valued and supported.
