About The Teacher

I graduated from West Chester University in 2002 with my degree in Health
and Physical Education and I just graduated with my Masters degree in Health
Education also from West Chester University.

This is my sixth year of teaching. I taught at a school district in
Lancaster County for two years and this is my fourth year at Penn London
Elementary School.

I live in Valley Township with my husband, Ryan who is also a teacher. He is
an instrumental music teacher (a 4th and 5th grade band teacher) at
Unionville and Hillendale Elementary Schools. We have a baby girl named
Samantha. She was born 5 weeks early on Oct. 1st. She was 5lbs. 18.5 inches
long. She was and is currently very healthy. She went to the well baby
nursery and came home in 2 days. She is a pleasure! My hobbies are playing
lacrosse and other sports, reading, hiking, and camping! My husband and I
plan to visit and hike at all of the major National Parks in the United
States. We have been to 17 so far!

My door is always open, if you have any questions. I am very happy to be
here at Penn London!

Philosopy of AGSD Health and Physical Education and Mission for the Class

Philosophy of AGSD Health and Physical Education Department:

The Avon Grove School District and Physical Education Program recognizes the
unique characteristics of each student and is an integral part of the total
educational experience. The program promotes long term health and wellness
and ensures that students possess the knowledge and skills to practice a
lifetime of healthy living.

Therefore, our program...

•	provides opportunities for each student to develop optimal wellness
(physical, mental, social, emotional);
•	offers an environment that promotes individual responsibility and
personal success;
•	provides meaningful inclusion of all students; and
•	recognizes that physically active students learn more effectively and
achieve more academically.

Mission for the Class:
My goal for my students is to practice good sportsmanship while learning, to
feel safe and have fun, and to understand what they are learning in class
will help them in the future to lead a healthy lifestyle.
