BUSY BUSY WEEK! PLEASE READ BELOW! ____________________________________________________________________________ As many of you know, the Holidays are a difficult time for many families. This year, the threat of a declining economy and a recession has hit closer to home than many of us would like. Each year, in lieu of teacher gifts, I ask that you donate your time, or a gift, to a special family. Our class will be adopting a family this Holiday season and we will be collecting gifts and new clothes during the month of December. This is something I enjoy doing with the kids each year, as they learn so much about each other, the world around them, and how to be thankful for everything you give them each day! Knowing that they are helping a family in need gives them all such a great sense of pride! We have received some wonderful gifts and donations! If you would still like to purchase something for the family, here are some suggestions: Clothes for the 4 year old girl - size 5/6 for both pants and shirts Toys for the 4 year old girl and 5 year old boy Bike Helmets for the 7 and 8 year old boys Various sports balls for all 3 boys - footballs, basketballs...etc Gift Cards for the family to use for their Holiday Meal - Giant, Acme, Wal- Mart etc We will be having our 3rd annual Wrapping Party this Friday, December 18th from 1:30 - 2:30! We will work together to wrap all of the items we have collected for our special family! You must have your clearances to attend, so if you do not have them as of yet, there is still plenty of time to get them;) Please send in extra wrapping paper and ribbons for our party! I have plenty of scissors, tape, and labels, but we will need lots of paper!!! We will also be making Gingerbread Houses on the 18th! **PLEASE SEND IN SMALL CARTONS FOR DECORATING!** If you are able to send in small empty/clean milk cartons, that would be great! We are also still in need of Graham Crackers, Vanilla Icing, small Pretezel sticks, and candy to decorate our houses! Thanks so much for your continued support of our activities! ______________________________________________________________________________ Mrs. Russell
