A MESSAGE FROM THE SUPERINTENDENT:
Dear Parents/Guardians:
Thank you for your patience and understanding regarding our late dismissal from Avon Grove Intermediate School and Penn London Elementary School on Tuesday, June 9. Just as dismissal was scheduled to get underway, a severe weather front that included thunderstorms and hail approached the Avon Grove area. In addition, we received a tornado warning alert for our area. To protect the safety and well-being of our students, faculty, staff and bus drivers, I made the decision to delay dismissal until the severe weather cleared and the tornado warning was lifted. Students began to board buses at approximately 4:10 p.m. Our students were very patient and cooperative during the delay, and I commend them for their good behavior. Thanks also go to our faculty, staff, administrators and bus drivers for their coordinated efforts during the delay and subsequent dismissal. Again, thank you for your understanding.
Sincerely,
Dr. Augustus J. Massaro, Superintendent of Schools
