Creative Movement class was designed to help the children at PLE learn to play and use their imaginations. The activities include some physical movement, music, storytelling, puppets and dramatic play. All students at PLE, K-2, participate in the Creative Movement special for the full year.Back to Top
Do Kindergarten students get to go to "Specials"?
Yes! The kindergarten children are an important part of our student body. They have developmental, physical and academic needs that must be met. They will have 4 specials all year - P.E., Music, Library and Creative Movement. They will rotate one trimester each between Healthy Habits, Art and Computer.Back to Top
Is my child eligible to participate in the Gifted Support Class?
If you wish your child to participate in GS class, then they must test into the program. If you believe that your child meets the academic guidelines, and you want your child to be tested, you should send a letter of request to your child's guidance counselor.Back to Top
Junior FIRST lego league is a program that helps students research and understand an advanced concept. After research and writing, the students develop a construct a Lego model to show what they learned. Students then compete at the Bob Carpenter Center with up to 500 teams, including Jr. and Sr. robotics teams. Each age group is judged separately. To see more, go to www.usfirst.orgBack to Top
Can my child participate in Lego League?
The Lego League is an extension of the Gifted Support Class. If your child is in the GS class, he/she will be involved in Lego League.Back to Top
Will my child get to play an instrument in music class?
Students at the K-2 level will play pitched and non-pitched percussion instruments. They will have a chance to choose a specific instrument when they get to 4th grade. Everyone will have a chance to play a stringed instrument in third grade.Back to Top
