Mrs. Butler
I am honored to a part of the Pennridge faculty and community and have truly enjoyed my 8 years here
so far.
In 1998, I graduated from the University of Dayton in Dayton, Ohio with a Bachelors Degree in
Elementary Education. After graduation, I taught fourth grade for two years in a suburban public school
district north of Dayton. I moved back to the Philadelphia area in 2000 to be closer to my family and
Mr. Butler. I was a long-term substitute for half a year in sixth grade at Jenkintown Elementary before
Mrs. Nichols hired me to teach fourth grade for Mrs. Rush. In the fall of 2001, I began teaching sixth
grade here at Guth where I remained for 4 years before moving to second grade. This is my fourth year
in second grade and I love it!
After marrying in 2003, I worked to complete my Masters of Education with a specialization in
technology at DeSales University in May of 2004. Technology is a wonderful tool for instruction that
can open many avenues for learning.
In my free time I enjoy spending lots of family time with my husband and daughter. Family time
includes church, trips to the farm to see the animals, swimming lessons, Gymboree, and attending all of
the great festivals in the area.
When I have "me" time I love going to the beach, scrapbooking, stamping cards, walking the trails,
gardening, playing golf and tennis and of course shopping!
I truly enjoy teaching and am looking forward to another great year. I hope to help your child to learn,
grow and mature into a good student and citizen. I know they will ELECT TO DO THEIR BEST in second
grade.
