This is the last newsletter of 2009.
Reading – We will
be reading Dear Mr. Henshaw. The reading log is due 12/21.
Language Arts –We’re
working on paragraphs to compare and contrast the Northeast and Southeast
regions of the U. S. Students are also creating winter cinquains. Current
events will be presented this week.
Spelling – The
list of words for lesson 11 should be studied. On the back of the “home list”, there are a few study suggestions. The assessment will be given 12/21.
Math – We are continuing
our work on decimals. Please check the homework agenda each night for the
assignment. The assessment for unit 4 will be given next Tuesday,
12/22. Have your child study
multiplication and division facts over the holiday. That is the only assignment for the holidays.
Science – We are beginning our switches. Students will be begin the unit on earth materials with Ms.
Chelbus.
There is no Sign and Return Packet this week. A packet
will be sent home next Monday and should be returned on January 4, 2010.
On December 23, I will provide a breakfast treat of donuts,
orange juice and milk for the children.
Thank you to the parents who have volunteered to speak to the children or who have volunteered to send in a traditional food. We will have our cultural celebration at 10:00 on December 23. I will send a note home with your child.
