FAQFrequently Asked Questions: This page contains answers to common questions of students and parents.
Do I need to write in cursive? Yes, unless otherwise stated by Mrs. Shoemaker Of course no one should forget their homework. However, on occasion some do forget it. Once or twice is not a problem. If however it is more than that, do not give in to coming back to school to get it every day. Some things can be done at home without the copy paper sheet. For example: if the reading sheet is forgotten, just sign on a seperate piece of paper everything that is expected on the regular sheet and I will add the information when they come in. If they forget spelling homework: ABC order / Sentences can be done on a seperate piece of paper. If a word grid was for homework, have them write their spelling words 3 x each and bring that in. What should I use to color with? Use crayons or colored pencils only (unless stated by Mrs. Shoemaker). Why are there so many book orders? Books are WONDERFUL! By giving so many book orders out to look at, I feel that I am allowing students and their families a variety of choices. I send them all home at one time because I know some families are on fixed incomes and this way the student may pick their one or two favorite books without having to worry that another book form may come home soon. How often do book orders get sent home? I like to send the order forms home at the beginning of each month. The forms and money are usually due one week later. Who do I make a check out to for book orders? A check may be made out to Scholastic Books. All book orders sent home are through Scholastic. Books may also be ordered online To order online, go to the Web address below and enter our classs personalized user name and password. www.scholastic.com/parentordering Class User Name: mrsshoemaker Password: BooksAreFun The students are learning how to update the homework. Students are assigned jobs in a two week interval. The website should not be relied on for assignments (sometimes are computers are not working or the student doesn't get the homework updated before their bus is called) |
