Top Text Title: Top Text: Hello friends, As you may already know, I love frogs. Every year I am asked why I like frogs so much, so I thought I would share some of my ideas here. First of all, frogs are magical creatures that transform from one state of being to another. If carefully observed, they can change right before your eyes! I find that this magic is also true about fourth graders. The beings that enter my classroom in September are very different, inside and out, when they leave in June. Frogs have also been the main characters in many a folktale and fairy tale. Usually the frog symbolizes great change or the turning of events in literature. I really respect someone who can take a problem, solve it, and actually make a situation better than it was before. In Native American culture the frog is the totem of metamorphosis. Again, this symbolizes change and coming into your own power. You will find that fourth grade is very much about gaining the skills that create independence and owning your own power. Finally, I love frogs because they always seem to be wearing a grin. This grin seems to say to me, "Do not get stuck in the mud of negativity. If you thoughtfully look around, you can always find something to be HOPPY about!!!" Have fun, Ms. Chelbus Links Section Title:
