About The Teacher
I am a 1977 graduate of Pine Grove Area and a 1981 graduate of Shippensburg University. Of course, way back then, it was Shippensburg State College! I have been in Pine Grove Area Elementary School since 1981, first as a daily substitute, and then as a full-time teacher. I started in kindergarten, then first grade for four years, K-Plus for nine years, and now have been in first grade since that time. My husband and I have been married for 27 years. My husband is a salesman and an avid Eagles (unlike me!) and Notre Dame football fan. He loves activities with friends and family. We have one daughter, AmyJo, who also graduated from Shippensburg University with an elementary education certification. It must be in the blood! Her minor was theatre. She absolutely loves to act and sing! She is now substituting in the Pine Grove Area School District. We have three cats--Dallas, a gray-striped tabby, who is 4 years old, Nala, our calico, who is 6 years old, and a grey 1-year-old named Jasmine. When I'm not teaching, I love to go camping with my family and friends. I also love to watch football!! Go Dallas!!!

Mission
My mission statement for 1st grade is that learning is a journey, not a race. I definitely believe that we learn through our mistakes, each in our own way, at our own pace.
