Announcements for the Week of May 20, 2013 
Into the final stretch we go...  This week will be spent finishing up curriculum as we prepare to get ready for final exams.  The exam schedule will go out in the next two weeks of which exams are on each day.  Continue to work hard and your efforts will be fruitful!  We have somewhat of a quiet week.  Check it out!

What’s Going on in Sixth Grade?

Science- We will finish the year by studying the various body systems. Then, we will begin to prepare for our final exam that will be in June!

Social Studies- The children are working on brochures of an Asian country in computer class. We will use video and our Penns Valley book to finish studying about the various features of Asia.

E.L.A (ENGLISH LANGUAGE ARTS)

Reading- We are jumping around and finishing up skills and strategies in our Reading Series. We will read a few more stories, while we finish mastering different concepts in our series. We will have our Final Exam the week we come back from Memorial Day.

Writing-We are always writing in class. There aren’t many days that go by where we aren’t writing essays, applying our spelling/vocabulary words to sentences or using skills to enhance the quality of our Writing. We will continue Writing and practicing skills as we end out this year.

Grammar- We will finish out the year reviewing major parts of Speech in preparation for our exam that will come in June.

Listening/Speaking- We will end end the year by presenting another silly poem or poem of your choice. Directions will come home shortly!

Spelling/Vocabulary- We are about done our Spelling book. We will complete our Spelling Review pages in preparation for our final exam that will also be in the beginning of June. We will also work on some more units in our vocabulary book as the year gets closer to the end.

**We have been trying to finish up our day to day studies and learning all we need before we move on to 7^th grade! Study guides for FINAL EXAMS will be issued during the week of May 28^th 2013! Thank you for all of your support!!**
