& March – Wittenburg Project:
The Wittenberg Project is a bold, new
venture to share the Good News of Jesus and plant a Lutheran congregation in
A building has
been purchased. The four-story frame building, built in 1564 and vacant for the
last 15 years, sits near many historic sites—next to St. Mary's Protestant
Church, where Luther often preached, and about a half-mile from the Castle
Church, where he posted his 95 Theses attacking the sale of indulgences and
that helped launch the Reformation.
Once renovated,
the building will serve as a ministry center with a Lutheran bookstore, welcome
center, human-care office, and chapel that will serve Wittenbergers and
tourists alike. By God's grace, a Word and Sacrament ministry will be
established among the people of
