I look forward to returning, well and healthy, to school on Monday. I
did have the flu and hope none of you get it. Get lots of sleep, eat
healthfully, exercise, and wash those hands!
We are going to depart from our regular routine this week and study the
people, both the Native Americans and Pilgrims, who were present at the first
Thanksgiving. What was our country like then, how did the Pilgrims and
Native Americans survive without today's everyday conveniences, what were
their needs and wants? We will also continue to study weather in greater
detail, becoming weather reporters!
Addition with regrouping, identifying and counting coins (pennies,
nickels, dimes, quarters, and half-dollars) up to one dollars, and problem
solving skills will challenge our second graders during math class in
November and December. Do let us know if your child is experiencing
difficulty with homework so we can help them.
