Ask the LibrarianImportant Information for Sacred Heart Library
How many books can be checked out each week? Each student is permitted to check out one book each week that they should be reading for enjoyment. If students are working on a project arrangement can be made to check out other books related to their project. All books can be renewed. However, if a book is on hold for another student, only one renewal is permitted. What happens if a book is lost or damaged? The student is resposible to pay for the lost or damaged book. A fee must also be payed to reprocess the book. The library does accept new books donated in memory of a loved one. Monetary donations are also accepted to purchase books from our library vendor. Each book contains a book plate honoring your loved one and the person who made the generous donation. Can gently used books be donated? We do accept donated books in good condition. Most often we do not keep them for the school library unless they are hardback. However, we do distribute them to our classroom libraries. Can people volunteer to help in the library? YES! We are always looking for people to help shelve books in the library. You can help with this right before school or during the school day. It usually takes only 45 minutes or less. |
