It was great to see so many of our parents on "Back to School Night."
Thank you for coming to your child's classroom to see all the things they
have done in our short time together. They were excited to read the notes
that you wrote in their Journals.
On Friday September 25th we will celebrate Johnny Appleseed Day. We
will be tasting and comparing three different kinds of apples and recording
the results. The children will also do Apple Prints, Puppets, read about
John Chapman, and view a beautiful story of Johnny Appleseed. It is always a
fun and busy day. At snack the class will make an apple dessert with peanut
butter, raisons, and marchmallows.
Each Friday the children will have the opportunity to buy a special
snack after they eat lunch. The snack will cost fifty cents and the money
will be used for special projects for the classes that bring in the snack.
For your planning Second Grade will be in charge of snacks for the school on
Friday, October 9th. More info will be sent home the week before in their
orange folders.
