Please start saving empty toliet paper rolls for an Advent project. Please
send them in with you child as the rolls become empty.
Thank you to all the parents that sent in dry erase markers, colored pencils,
dry erase erasers. They come in handy for our many projects.
We are working on a very exciting Christmas project in Writing and Social
Studies. We have received a list of students from all over the United States
including Canada. We will send a card from A1 and wait to receive our
cards. Then we will discuss all the different states we received cards
from. We ask each child to bring in a stamp to help with postage and
handling. Thank you to all the parents who already sent in a stamp.
On Monday December 7, we will go to the Boyertown Planetarium to see the
show "Star of Bethlehem." The cost is $5.00 to cover the entrance fee and
the bus. We are not taking chaperones this time. We will leave school at
9:40 and come back 11:15. We will wear regular school uniforms and be back
for lunch.
First Grade has Cupcakes for a Cause on Friday December 4. Because that day
is a brown bag day, we had it changed to Thursday, December 3. I have asked
some parents to bake or buy snacks for that day. Thanks to all my helpers
who are able to send in snacks for our class. The day is Thursday, Dec. 3.
Secret Santa Workshop is the week of Dec. 1, 2, 3. First grade will be
shopping on Wed. afternoon from 1:45 - 2:30. Please send in envelopes with
money for the children to shop. There will be lots of helpers to help your
child shop. The shop will be open till Thursday if anyone still needs to
shop.
There is a review lesson in Spelling this week, Nov. 30. The children will
practice printing 30 words in their homework copybooks. On Friday, Dec. 4
there will be a test on 15 of the 30 words. Next week we will start a new
lesson and taking a pretest.
During the month of December there will be two books reports due. One will
be due the week of the 7th and one will be due the week of the 14th. There
is no report due this week or the week before Christmas.
