Dear Parents/Guardians,

I am excited to welcome you to the 2017-2018 school year! Hopefully the summer has provided you with many memorable opportunities to spend time with family and friends. It continues to be an honor and privilege to serve as the principal of St. Anthony of Padua School, a student centered learning community. As we prepare to embark on another year, I am reminded that the beginning of school is truly a special time, and I am eagerly looking forward to partnering with you as we continue to nurture the ongoing development of your child. Fortunately, our school continues to be a team of exceptionally talented and committed faculty and staff.

I would like to take this opportunity to welcome our new Music Teacher Miss Siobhan Dotson and Physical Education Teacher Mrs. Marie DiStefano to our faculty. The Teachers and custodians have been working diligently to thoroughly prepare the halls and classrooms of the school facility in preparation for another school year.

Each student will receive a Parent Handbook on the first day of school. This book will serve as a valuable tool to assist parents. The Parent Handbook contains the Code of Student Conduct. Please take a moment during the first few days/weeks of school to review the content of the handbook with your child.

School will open on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 for children in Grades K-8. Children will line up on Pierce Street between 8:00 and 8:10 A.M. Pre-K3 and Pre-K4 will begin school on Thursday September 7, 2017. Parents are permitted to come down to the school hall where I will welcome you. There will be a 12:00 NOON Dismissal on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, September 6th, 7th, 8th. Please make arrangements to pick your children up on time. Full days will begin on Monday, September 11, 2017.

I certainly look forward to seeing you at different events as we eagerly anticipate another fulfilling year of meaningful learning experiences for our students. Feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.

Sr. Mary Esther Carsele, M.P.F.
